We Are Here To Help
Our goal is to provide you with a wonderful
experience with our office. At times medical insurance and vision plans make healthcare confusing. We do our best to inform our patients about exam and treatment costs before their appointment, however we also ask encourage our patients to call their insurance companies themselves to get a better understanding of their plans and obligations.
Your Insurance
We accept most but not all insurance plans.
Because there are so many plans and carriers, and so many changes that are very difficult to keep with, we recommend calling our office and we will confirm if we accept your insurance. If we do not accept your insurance, not to worry, we offer other options that will allow you to get the care that you may need.
Vision Plans VS Medical Plans
Medical Insurance
Medical insurance is used when your visit involves:
- Eye health concerns
- Medical conditions affecting your eyes
- Symptoms such as pain, dryness, irritation, or blurred vision
Your doctor will determine whether your visit is medical or routine based on:
- Your symptoms
- Your medical history
- The complexity of your exam
Routine Eye Exams Through Medical Insurance
Some medical plans also include routine vision benefits, including:
- Aetna Medicare PPO
- BAS
- HMA
- Kaiser PPO
- Select Regence and Premera plans
- And others
In-Network Medical Plans
We are in-network with the following plans:
- Aetna / Aetna Medicare
- Blue Cross Blue Shield (Premera, Regence)
- Cigna
- First Choice Health
- Humana
- Kaiser PPO
- Lifewise
- Medicare & Medicare Supplements
- Tricare (may require referral)
- BAS, HMA, ILWU, and more
We work with many additional plans. If you don’t see your insurance listed, please call our office—we’re happy to check your coverage.
Vision Savings Plans
We are in-network with Davis Vision for routine eye exams.
Important to Know
- Davis Vision covers routine eye exams only
- It provides basic screening for eye health
- It does not cover diagnosis, management, or treatment of eye conditions
Examples include:
- Dry eye disease
- Glaucoma
- Diabetes-related eye care
- Cataracts
Glasses & Contact Lenses
At our office:
- Frames, lenses, contact lenses, and contact lens evaluations are not billed directly to Davis Vision
- You are welcome to order through our office
- We will provide a detailed, itemized receipt and claim form for you to submit to your plan for possible reimbursement
Using Both Vision Savings Plan & Medical Insurance
If you have both Davis Vision and medical insurance:
- Some services may be billed to your medical insurance
- Routine exam benefits may apply to Davis Vision
We will guide you through this process.
Your Responsibility
If we are in-network with your plan, we will bill your insurance directly.
You may still be responsible for:
- Co-pays
- Deductibles
- Co-insurance
- Non-covered services
These are determined by your insurance provider.
Billing
We will be happy to file your insurance claim forms for your vision and/or medical benefits without any additional charge to you. We can quote your estimated coverage as we obtain it through our billing team, however, the final determination of your benefits will not occur until your insurance company receives and approves your claim. Please bring all your insurance cards to your visit – this will allow for a smoother visit.
Payment Options
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and all other major credit cards.
We also have a partnership agreement with CareCredit that can enable you to make monthly, affordable payments at no interest. CareCredit® is a flexible patient/client payment program, specifically designed for healthcare expenses, that makes it easier for you to get the treatment or procedures you want and need. CareCredit is ideal for co-payments, deductibles, treatment and procedures not covered by insurance.
